Biggest Morning Tea
May 22, 2025 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

We're hosting Australia's Biggest Morning Tea at the Community Workshop, Maryvale Road, Athelstone, on Thursday 22nd May 2025, beginning at 10am and we'd love for you to be a part of it! Bring a plate of your favorite morning tea treat and join us for a warm cuppa with Rotary members and the amazing folks from the Workshop. It's a chance to connect, share, and support a vital cause. Did you know nearly 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by 85? Your generosity will help fund life-saving research and bring us closer to a cancer-free future.  For more information contact Sue Pullens 0458 735 609.

🌟 Robin LeGallez

Robin LeGallez is one of Rotary District 9510’s most quietly brilliant enablers — a powerhouse of behind-the-scenes know-how and all-round good humour. A proud member of the Rotary Club of Murray Bridge, Robin’s local club service has been vast, from vocational projects to youth initiatives — but it’s his District-level impact that makes him stand out.

For years, Robin has been the go-to person for everything ClubRunner — keeping clubs connected, websites humming, and our data tidy and accessible. His disciplined approach has helped countless club officers navigate the system (and saved more than a few secretaries from late-night meltdowns!).

Robin’s also been instrumental in training new presidents, onboarding club executives, and ensuring our Rotary systems are secure, smooth, and ready for the future. His steady leadership, patient mentoring, and readiness to help at the drop of a hat embody what it means to serve above self — with a gentle smile and a twinkle that says, “Don’t worry, we’ll get it sorted.”

If you ever wonder who keeps our District digital backbone strong — it’s Robin, working tirelessly to make Rotary easier for everyone, so we can spend less time fighting tech and more time changing lives.

Visit to Parliament House

Aug 20, 2025 6:30 PM

John Gardner has been the Member for Morialta in the South Australian House of Assembly since 2010. He rose to prominence as Minister for Education (2018–2022), spearheading reforms such as moving Year 7 into secondary school, introducing phonics checks, and keeping schools open during COVID-19 with minimal disruption. In April 2022, he became Deputy Leader of the South Australian Liberal Party.

Following a health scare in August 2024, which led to an all-clear after melanoma surgery, Gardner announced in December that he’ll step down at the 2026 election to focus on family life

Jordan Hawkey

My time as a writer

Sep 10, 2025 6:30 PM

Who Is Jordan Hawkey?

Jordan Hawkey is an author based in Adelaide, South Australia who openly shares that he lives with epilepsy—an inspiring detail that speaks volumes about his resilience.

His Literary Magic: Twins of Legend Series

He's the imaginative creator of the Twins of Legend series—a middle‑grade fantasy saga that stars two meerkat twins, Pan and Samson. Their world gets turned upside down when their town is attacked by snakes, thrusting them into a high-stakes quest involving powers, a secretive brother named Jackie, and a mysterious disc that holds everything together. The story unfolds across at least three books:

  • Book 1: The Disc of Power – The thrilling introduction to the twins' epic journey

  • Book 2: The Vault of Souls – They return home, but new dangers lurk in a hidden vault that could spell disaster

  • Book 3: Invasion of the Isles – With chapter teasers like “Fighting in the Field”, the adventure continues to escalate

Interactive Universe: Ghonsor’s Lore

Jordan doesn't just stop at books—he’s also building a rich lore called “History of Ghonsor,” where fans can explore short stories about characters like King Mirthrid and uncover hidden histories of the land where the meerkats roam.

From His Pen to the Community

Not only does he write, but he also shares his craft—hosting writing workshops like the one held in January 2025 at the Gawler Civic Centre, where he helped aspiring writers learn about storytelling, character development, editing, and even publishing and marketing strategies.

Why He’s So Cool

  • Creative world-building with adventurous meerkat heroes who capture hearts and imaginations.

  • Community champion, empowering emerging writers with real-world advice.

  • A personal narrative of strength, living openly with epilepsy and channeling that into his art.
