A Busy and Rewarding Period for Rotary Club of Morialta
It has been a particularly busy and energising period for members of the Rotary Club of Morialta, with strong community engagement and participation in a range of meaningful events.
One of the highlights in recent weeks was the Mother’s Day Classic. While our members did not participate as runners or walkers this year, they made a valuable contribution by assisting at a water station. Supporting participants along the course was a rewarding way to be involved, and the day was filled with a wonderful sense of community spirit and purpose.
A number of members also attended a screening of The Devil Wears Prada 2, a fundraising event organised by Inner Wheel in support of Foodbank. It was an enjoyable social occasion while also contributing to an important cause, reinforcing the strong partnership Rotary shares with Inner Wheel in serving the community.
In addition, it was fantastic to support the Rotary Club of Campbelltown’s Art Show, including providing a prize for the Indigenous Art Award. This contribution recognises and celebrates the rich cultural heritage and creativity of Indigenous artists, reflecting our shared commitment to inclusion, respect, and community connection.
Another special occasion was attended by President Rosemary, representing our club at the Rotary Club of Magill Sunrise’s 30th Anniversary on 19th May. As our “daughter club,” it was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their milestone and acknowledge the strong and ongoing relationship between our clubs.
At our most recent meeting, it was also a pleasure to hear from Ian Coats, Chair of Calperum and the Environment. His presentation provided valuable insights and sparked thoughtful discussion on environmental stewardship—an issue of growing importance to both Rotary and the broader community.
The club has maintained a full calendar of activities, including the Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea event on Thursday 21st May, 10am at the Community Workshop. Members continue to show great enthusiasm and dedication across a range of initiatives. These busy periods remind us not only of the work we do, but also of the difference we can make through collective effort.
As always, the strength of Rotary lies in its people. The willingness of members to step forward, contribute their time, and support one another continues to be inspiring.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the opportunities on the horizon. With strong engagement and growing momentum, the Rotary Club of Morialta is well placed to continue making a positive contribution to our local community.
