Its on again in 2025, bigger and better than ever

Aussie Day Duck Race

in support of local community causes. 

 

The Aussie Day Duck Race is back again in 2025 bigger and better than ever.  $1,000 cash first Prize (total prize pool of $3,000 cash and sponsor products/vouchers).  This year will feature the first Pink Duck Race, to raise awareness and funds for the Cancer Council.
 
Bring the family along for some fun, food and help raise money for local projects.  Join us on Australia Day, Sunday January 26 in Thorndon Park.  Food & drink from 11am; Racing from 1pm to 3:30pm; Tickets on sale from December 1
 

The previous two events were a quacking success, with hundreds of spectators enjoying the sunny weather, the family fun atmosphere, and... the ducks, ducks, ducks!

Most importantly, all proceeds from the our Ducks Races go to local causes, so thank you to everyone who purchased tickets, to all sponsors, and to everyone who helped out on the day.

Main Prizes

  • $1,000 first prizes in final race
  • Other prizes for placings in final race
  • each heat wins a sponsors voucher (min value $100)
  • Yellow Duck Race has 5 heats of 450 ducks with first 20 going into final
  • Pink  Duck Race has 2 heats of 480 ducks with first 20 in each heat joining the yellow ducks in the final race
  • Prices for best dressed as a duck
Food and activities available including a BBQ, drinks, popcorn, photo booth.
 
Heat policy: if the day is expected to be over 35 degrees we will postpone the event to the following day, or following weekend if the following day is also expected to be over 35.  We will endeavor to let all duck ticket owners know by email if the event is postponed and the general public via the Club's Facebook page.

All proceeds from the event will be directed to the following community causes and projects:
 
Cancer Council SA - All proceeds from the Pink Duck Race will go to help the activities of the Cancer Council SA

Morialta Community Award Winner – Paul Haylock

Congratulations to Paul Haylock - the Morialta Community Award winner for February 2024!
 
As a volunteer with the Rotary Club of Morialta, Paul is the creator and coordinator of the Aussie Day Duck Race. Paul's efforts have been pivotal to the Race's success over the last two years, bringing hundreds of people together and raising thousands of dollars for charity. Thank you Paul!
