The Rotary Club of Morialta’s Duck Race returned to Thorndon Park on Sunday 1 February, and it delivered everything we hope for in a community event — strong attendance, great weather decisions, wonderful collaboration, and a meaningful outcome for charity.

All the ducks were sold, with the final tickets snapped up 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. After adjusting the event date and start time for the second year in a row due to heat, the decision paid off. Conditions were cooler and safer, and the park welcomed an estimated 1,500–1,800 people across the afternoon.

Supporting Cancer Council SA 💗

A special feature of this year’s race was the pink duck race, which raised $5,000 for Cancer Council SA.

These funds are planned to be presented on Cancer Council SA’s Benefactor Day in March, where donations are matched dollar-for-dollar — meaning this contribution will become $10,000 in direct support of cancer research, prevention and support services.

Thank you

To everyone who bought a duck, helped on the day, supported behind the scenes, or simply came along to enjoy the atmosphere — thank you.

Thankyou to all of our sponsors.

We look forward to doing it all again next year.
